Princess Lover - Episode 3

Well that was a slightly boring episode. Silvia and Teppei spar a little, with Silvia beating him handily both times. Charlotte is so excited by this that she pretty much "rides" Teppei while trying to get a look at his sword...

No, it's not as dirty as it sounds...

Charlotte's personality is contagious as she remains bubbly while smothering poor Teppei. On the other hand Seika is a strong presence in this episode, even if she does come off as a total bitch. At least Silvia is warming up to Teppei a little, and seems like a fun character. Seika is the polar opposite right now, even if they're trying to make her out to be the tsundere of the show. Charlotte and Silvia want Teppei to join the "Society Club", and of course Seika makes him jump through hoops to get in.

Charlotte teaches him dancing while Silvia helps him practice his "tea time". Poor Teppei even has a problem with his "chewing gum" when him and Charlotte rub against each other during dance practice (use your own imagination). The exchanges are fun between them even if there is a bit of reused animation. On the other hand Yuu helps him out both at school and as the maid as we learn she was an orphan. Apparently she was allowed to work as a maid after she grew up at an orphanage, giving her a strong sense of duty.

Long story short, Teppei does enough to get in and "wows" the audience. I was surprised that Silvia didn't dance, but Charlotte and Teppei seemed to be having fun. Seika of course realizes she likes Teppei, and orders him to host a party at his house even after praising him. The other highlight of the episode was Mezu's comedic appearance. While he may only be comedic relief at this point, he's a hilarious character.

So next week Teppei will host a party and "do battle" with Seika. I know she has the tsundere roll to fill, but she berates poor Teppei any chance she gets. It looks like that will come to a head next week based on the preview.
