Even after the ending of "The Second Raid" TV series, a long line of light novels have been continuing the main Full Metal Panic story. The latest novel, "Always, Stand By Me", has put a bow on the main story of Full Metal Panic. Like Fumoffu was to the original TV series, there will be other side stories coming in the future. Still, as a FMP fan, it's a let down to know that these novels will never be animated, or at best take years. Below the page break are spoilers showing the ending of the last novel, so tread lightly if you want to read it yourself.
Above are two pictures from the second part of the last novel, translated by the dedicated "MisterV". As a fan of the Sousuke x Kaname pairing, it was nice to see that they finally embraced each other at the end. The whole bit about them meeting each other again before graduation, and kissing in front of everyone was great. Even while teasing fans for most of the series, saving the pairing conformation till the end of the story worked well. Still, fans of Tessa will be none too happy.

I wish they had a close up kissing scene though
Sadly that's all we get Anon. Remember these are novel illustrations, so outside of the cold day in hell when Kyo Ani gets this far...
Well, it's better than nothing heh.
i am so happy that is has a happy ending and we get a kissing scene between them..cant wait for the full metal panic sigma manga translations to finally reach here
