According to ANN, EA has announced that an "anime feature film" of the popular Mass Effect video game series is in production. This will be a co-production between Funimation and T.O. Entertainment. The press release also revealed that the movie itself is already being worked on. When it comes to turning video games into anime, there is some precedent. Microsoft had tried the very same thing with its Halo franchise, which led to mixed results.
As a Mass Effect and anime fan, this is good news. My expectations aren't too high, due to it being an anime adaptation of a western video game. Still, it will be fun to see Garrus, Tali, and the gang animated.
