The Fall of Aya Hirano

Japanese otaku, especially those that idolize Seiyu, are a scary bunch. They expect their idols to stay "pure", and often throw hissy fits when they aren't. Perhaps it's the difference of cultures in that most fans of say, Hollywood movies, don't care too much about actors/actresses sex life. If their sex life is brought up, it's usually met with a "wow, that's hot" response. So when a high-profile Seiyu, who has recently been going through trouble in Japan, gets outed as sleeping with most of her band, the Haruhi's will roll. Add to the fact that Aya took pictures, and you see many fans ripping posters, refusing to watch Haruhi, and comparing her to a variety of domesticated animals.

She can still voice characters, sure, but crestfallen fans won't forgive her transgressions. However fair that might be, it's the double edged sword of being a popular Seiyu. Head over to Sankaku Complex to view the pictures.
