According to ANN, Guillermo del Toro is developing Monster into a possible show for HBO. With Guillermo directing and Steven Thompson(Dr. Who, Sherlock) writing, along with the show airing on HBO(Game of Thrones, Sopranos, Band of Brothers), this could turn into an outstanding adaptation. While a little long for your average fan, Monster is an anime that would feel at home in live action. As a fan of the series, I'm glad to see that HBO is developing the show, especially after the treatment Game of Thrones received.
