A case of Spring fever

While some fellow anime fans are hoping for spring for relief from zero degree temperatures, I can't help but get excited over the anime. Apparently Queen Blade will air in the spring months even after making an appearance on the Winter "whats airing" list. The big draw this season will obviously be the new Full Metal Alchemist series. "Wait, haven't they already made a FMA series, and a movie, and a slew of OVA's?" you might say...

 Yes, they did...

This one is supposed to follow the manga trite and true, so look forward to a bunch of "ugh, I can't wait till this happens so the story can move on" moments.

Otherwise there are some really interesting shows slated to air outside of Queen's Blade. Here are some that I'll be keeping an eye on.

Shangri - La
  • Director: Makoto Bessho(Death Note, AMG movie)
  • Series Composition: Hiroshi Ohnogi(Aquarion, Birdy Decode, Macross Zero, Rahxephon, Gundam Seed)
  • Character Design: Range Murata(Last Exile, great designs)
  • Animation Director: Kumi Ishii(Kurenai and Red Garden character designer)
  • Studio: Gonzo
The show certainly boasts a seasoned staff as well as having Gonzo behind it. Yeah, Gonzo carries a stigma with it, but their shows are usually the ones to watch each season. Of course they still have a high chance of letting you down...

East of Eden
  • Director: Kenji Kamiyama(Blood The Last Vampire, GITS SAC, Moribito)
  • Series Composition: Kenji Kamiyama
  • Character Design: Chika Umino(Honey and Clover)
  • Studio: Production I.G
This is pretty much the Kenji Kamiyama show with help from Chika Umino and her original character designs. The premise sounds interesting enough, and with Production I.G doing the animation it'll at least be something to check out. Moribito and GITS SAC were great in the storytelling department.

Otherwise most of the other shows will fall under the usual "wait until it airs". That and we already did Queen's Blade...
