Princess Lover - Episode 1

The summer season continues to impress with "Princess Lover". Coming in I had no intention of watching this show or even paying an ounce of attention towards it. It's only when I saw Random's post about the show that I decided to give it a look. I came out pleasantly surprised about the first episode and am adding it to my "watch/follow" list. The animation was solid by "GoHands", a studio that I have never heard of before this show.

I'm trying to settle more into "quick take" posts instead of writing up a huge summary of stuff that you probably saw watching the episode. Of course this doesn't stop me from gushing about things like Kara no Kyoukai. But back to the show...

The character designs, besides being a little bouncy, were well done by the "Shugo Chara" designer. Charlotte and Sylvia are animated nicely and seem like great characters that'll fight over Teppei. For now, Teppei seems like a strong male lead, risking it all to save Charoltte from random thugs. The first episode plot developments in Teppei being named successor to a powerful company and Sylvia being his "fiancee" fit together well. While it doesn't do anything new or won't break the harem mold, it's a fun show to watch that's nicely animated.
