Hot on the heels of reducing their workforce down to their "core staff", Media Blasters has hit a new snag. Media Blasters was set to release the first Blu Ray of "Bakuman", the popular show about a high school student becoming a mangaka, has since canceled. No reason was provided for the cancellation, with Rightstuf changing the status of the release to "not available for purchase". Bakuman's DVD release has also been put on hold, with no release date for Vol. 2.
While I was never a routine customer of Media Blasters, I hope they can hang on. We've already lost Geneon and Bandai, as more companies shift to the Crunchyroll delivery system.
