With the Spring 2012 anime season ending, let's look ahead to the Summer. While not listed last season, shows like Accel World turned out to be solid. Instead of the normal "season chart" picture, the new head picture will be from the show I'm most interested in. You can still find the chart here.
Muv-Luv Alternative: Total Eclipse - Based on the popular visual novel and manga series, Muv-Luv finally gets an anime. It's good to see a solid mecha series.
Natsuyuki Rendezvous - In what promises to be an emotional show, a guy tries to woo the widowed owner of a flower shop he works at. There is one problem, her late husbands ghost still lingers in her apartment.
Moyashimon Returns - With much fanfare, the continuation of the original Moyashimon anime is finally here.
Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate - Yes, it's a dating sim adaption about a Food "Research Club" with nice character designs. Yes, I do have a soft spot for shows like this.
Oda Nobuna No Yabo - Madhouse's new "historical romantic comedy" centered around a high schooler sent back to Japan's Sengoku Jidai period. The catch? All the well known warlords of the era are now female.
Hagure Yusha no Estetica - Sure it'll be cheesy, sure the promotional video is full of tits, but I'll check it out anyway.
Arcana Famiglia - It's J.C. Staff, but the premise and setup sound interesting enough. Add in Chiaki Kon(Zakuro, Umineko, When They Cry) and you have something to keep an eye on.
Add in two movies, Library Wars: Wings of Revolution and Wolf Children, and this is shaping up to be an active season. Other notable shows this season are Rinne no Lagrange's second season, Tari Tari, Kokoro Connect, and a pair of sequels in Dog Days and YuriYuri.
